Alternative / Indie – Quirky – Film Score – Orchestral – Tactile – Electronic – Hybrid orchestral / electronic – The Beatles
Greg Martin grew up in Washington, DC in a very musical family. After getting his first Beatles record when he was seven years old, there was pretty much no turning back…
He spent the better part of the next ten years honing his skills as a guitarist. Playing in everything from jazz ensembles to death metal bands, he was able to develop a deep appreciation for all styles of music.
Then things took an interesting turn. In high school, he started to become obsessed with movies, TV, and storytelling in general. All the pieces fell into place, and it wasn’t long before he realized that the film scoring world was where he belonged. He secured a scholarship to Berklee College of Music, where only three years later he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Music in Film Scoring. Two weeks after graduating, he hightailed it to Los Angeles, where he currently resides.
He’s been in LA for three years now. In addition to scoring countless television shows, short films, and commercials, he scored his first feature length film Crossroad in 2012.
His fascination with storytelling only grows more intense every day, and the challenge of using music to help tell a story is one he’ll always embrace. And he still listens to the Beatles. A lot.
